Public NOW archive for July 19, 2026.

July 19, 2026

Today the website started becoming a public knowledge system rather than a set of separate output pages.

The useful shape is a public daily note, durable knowledge entries, saved links, and annotations living on one surface. The private notes behind it remain private. Publication is a fresh act of synthesis, not a line-by-line redaction of the private graph.

In view

  • Public and private memory need different contracts. Private memory can preserve contradiction and context. Public Knowledge needs sources, visible uncertainty, correction paths, and an explicit decision to publish.
  • ATProto can carry the public objects. Knowledge entries can use the Standard.site document model and Leaflet blocks, giving each entry a portable record identity alongside its page on this site.
  • Specs become more important as implementation gets cheaper. When agents can rewrite code quickly, the durable layer moves toward intent, constraints, tests, and evidence.

What changed

Library is becoming Knowledge. Saved links and annotations are still here, but they now sit beside the public notes they inform. The page opens on NOW so the system can show what is alive today without pretending every thought is already a durable conclusion.

Open question

How much continuity can a public daily note accumulate before it becomes another archive people admire instead of a surface they actually use?
